Tips and tricks to host your friends and family while living in your apartment home.
We don’t know about you, but we love hosting get togethers in our apartment homes! Living in apartment spaces may make you feel like hanging out with family and friends is close to impossible, but that’s not the case at all! Check out the following pointers to make sure you’re always hosting happiness in your apartment home.
Community Policies
Quiet hours
Most apartment communities have quiet hours to allow for peaceful evenings. When hosting friends and family, make sure that you and your guests are partying at a respectful and considerate noise level and outside of quiet hours. Contact your leasing office for more information on your community’s quiet hours!
Parking
Many communities have assigned or limited parking to ensure all residents can park near the location of their apartment home. When inviting people over, make sure they know your community’s parking policy to avoid being towed or ticketed.
Hosting at Community Amenities
Communities pride themselves on their amenities. In garden – style communities, there are likely to be amenities that may be available to rent for you to host! Additionally, outdoor areas of your community could be used to host small get togethers. Your on-site office team should be more than happy to share all the possibilities with you! Apartment home residents host events in / at
- Community Center
- Tennis Court
- Pool (in rare cases)
- Playground
- Picnic Area
- Dog Park (puppies like to party too!)
Evaluating Your Apartment Home Space
When having a few people in your space, you’ll want to make sure that the space you have works for the hosting you want to do. An apartment home works great for:
- Movie Nights
- Game Night
- Charcuterie Celebrations
- Baby Shower (if you rent a community amenity)
- Birthday Party
- Small Holiday Gatherings

Using Outdoor Space for Indoor Hosting
Balcony / Patio
If you have a balcony or patio, consider leaving your door open for friends to wonder in and out. This will allow air to flow and keep your noise level spread out!
Windows
Opening windows can create more natural light and give the appearance of larger space!
Choosing the Right Apartment Home for You
If you love to be the host with the most, shopping for an apartment home should come with a requirement for hosting space!
Shared Spaces
Explore options that have larger shared spaces, like kitchen and living rooms. Even with a small space, a larger shared area can give the illusion of a huge hosting opportunity!
